Emailing on IPad

Hola todos,

So, you'd think that because I have small hands it would be easy to
type on a iPad mini but you would be absolutely wrong!, I am so sorry
but this is going to be a very small email. :)

This week was pretty good, we had exchanges and we meet a ton of new
investigators! It was like they where coming out of nowhere! Two of
the awesome investigator that we have this week are named Rosa and
Yvette. They are really good friends with a recent convert here and
they are really enjoying it when we come and teach them. They also
came to church and Rosa's two little girls were like the best behaved
children I've ever seen at church!

Exchanges was awesome! I went to Dodge City with Hna Valdivia... Dodge
city is pretty much like my second home out here in the west. I had a
great time and I learned so much! We had a great day filled with
miracles and the spirit and ever since then I've been able to feel the
spirit testifying through me so much more!

Today Hna Viera woke up with a migraine so we've been taking it pretty
easy. The elders got it approved from prez that we could watch
Ephraim's Rescue since there's nothing to do here in Liberal. So it's
been a pretty chill day. I hope all of you have a wonderful day! :)

Wedding Planning Craziness

Hola Todos,

So this week passed by so fast it's really hard to believe that it's Monday once more. A lot happened this week but we have stake P-day again so I'll just be sharing the Highlights! :)
Biggest Highlight; Christina got baptized and then married!!! :) Woohoo!!! Man this week was so crazy trying to get everything done that we needed to for the "weddism" (wedding & baptism). Pretty much everything was left to Sister Viera and I do get the wedding done... without us knowing and or realizing until Saturday morning! Thank Heavens we have some really awesome members that didn't mind us calling them last minute to help us out with decorations and things like that. There were a few minor kinks through out but at the end of the day everything was great. Although I'm pretty sure that being a wedding planner is not in my future.

We also had Zone training this week and I learned so much! It was really awesome to learn through the spirit the things Heavenly Father wants me to do to help progress the work here in Liberal. A versus that's stuck out to me really strongly this week is D&C 88:67-68...

67 And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things.

68 Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will.

I really like this versus because it talks about how when Christ becomes our center... the person that we think about the most... we shall be filled with light. And for me light always represents happiness. I know that if we all try a little harder to have our minds filled with Christ and his gospel our lives will be filled with joy and happiness. One day we will see him face to face. And I can not wait until that day!!! :) I love you all so much and I hope you have a wonderful week!!

This Just Got Real!

Hola Todos,

So this week was a really weird one for me, lots of stress but also a lot of good things as well. Hermana Viera and I have a pretty lofty goal for baptisms in this transfer, it's four, we have Christina Bryan who is going to be baptized this weekend. So therefore we need three more people to get baptized. That goal occupied just about every thought I had in this last week. And it was causing me a lot of stress trying to figure out how we were going to accomplish this goal. And on top of that stress I had blessing from our District Leader and in the blessing it said, "Heavenly Father wants you to know that hard times are coming," so that was a double whammy!! Long story short, this week taught me how important relying on the Lord is and trusting in Him- and that trusting includes not getting stressed! So that's my goal this week to trust in the Lord and his promises and still have a Urgency to go, find, do, and baptize!

Like I mentioned up above Christina's getting baptized this weekend!!! So excited!! She had knee surgery on Friday and the first thing she asked the doctor was "Can I still my baptism done?!?" And he said Yes!!! Woot woot!! She is doing great and I am so excited for this family!!! :)

Another good thing that happened this week was that we got in contact with Herminia again. We lost contact with her since the last time that she went to church, which was before transfers. We had tried her probably like 25 times (okay that's a exageration but still it was a lot!) and I could tell that Hermana Viera didn't understand why we were still trying... that was until she actually met Herminia! :) She wants to get baptized and wants to feel all of the peace that Heavenly Father offers his Children.

We also had so pretty crazy rain on Friday! It took about 10 minutes for half of Liberal to get flooded! Thankfully we were in an appointment so we didn't get to wet... well, at least until we tried to ride our bikes to our next appointment! The water was up past my knees! It was so ridiculous that I was laughing the whole way home! :) Man Kansas has the weirdest weather ever!

I love you all and I hope you all have a great week!

Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana Kammeyer

Random: This morning we got our monthly newsletter for the mission... and my name was under the departing list (and like 25 other names) so yeah... this just got real! :(

July 11!!!

Hola todos!

Man oh man did this week just fly on by! It feels like I've already been companions with Hna Viera for forever not just 5 days!

So the week started off with Transfer craziness aka packing, saying goodbyes, still trying to get work done, and even more packing! But everything went good and Sister Webb got to her new area sin problema! :)

Last week, I told you all about Billy and Christina and how they were supposed to be getting married this weekend. For some reason Billy was feeling that they should wait ... until August 7th! But with a lot of prayers and faith they are now going to get married on the same day that Christina will be baptized!!! Put it on you calendars! July 11th will be a very busy day! :)

I love my new companion Hermana Viera. She is so much fun and she motivates me to become better everyday! I am so excited for all of the miracles that we are going to keep on seeing this transfer! Kansas really is the best place ever and saving souls is the most fun you could ever have!! Les quiero mucho y espero que tengan un buen did!!

Con mucho amor,
Hermana Kammeyer

Whoa! Week of Miracles!! :)

Hola Todos!

Wow, this week was amazing! I learned so much and so many wonderful things happened! So the first miracle of the week was that we didn't have any extra meetings this week!!!! Therefore we had our whole week to just work (that's the first time that's happened this whole transfer)! It was a huge blessing and I am so grateful for everyday that I have to work hard and serve the Lord.

Last week I think I told you about Billy and Christina and how she is working towards being baptized. After Church last Sunday we showed her around the church and she felt the spirit so strongly and ever since then she has just been on Fire!! (spiritually that is) She's been reading the Book of Mormon everyday and she is progressing so much!! We taught her about the Law of Chasity and we invited her to live it. We knew it might be a hard change for her so we invited some member families to pray for her and within two days Christina and Billy had picked out a day that they wanted to get married!!!!!!! And guess what? That day is this weekend!!!!! What?!?! Isn't Heavenly Father just the best! He is providing the way to help them come back to him and he is there every step of the way.

On Friday, Sister Webb and I woke up and we weren't feeling to good but we decided to just ignore it and to keep on working and man, did Heavenly Father bless us. We talked to so many knew people and on our way to dinner we saw a teenager sitting outside on her porch. We got off our bikes and went and talked to her and it was incredible. She just recently moved her and she's had a rough past and didn't feel like God loved her. We testified that he did love her and that He sent us there to show her that. By the end of the conversation the spirit had touched her heart and she agreed to be baptized next month!! :) Then after dinner a member took us to go see on of her friends named Herainia. That was probably one of the sweetest and most precious experiences of my mission. This member had never shared the gospel with anyone before and she was so nervous to share it. But the Holy Ghost had testified to her so strongly that her friend needed to hear the gospel that she took us to go see her. The night before we came Herainia had prayed and asked Heavenly Father to take her to a place where she could feel 'the warmth in her heart' again. As her friend testified to her of the blessings of the gospel and as we read the book of Mormon with her she felt that warmth and and recognized us as the answers to her prayer.

I don't think I've ever felt more grateful for anything in my whole life than I was that day and at that time. Because Heavenly Father chose me to answer the prayer of one of his children. I can truly testify that He does listen to and answer every prayer because God loves his children... So yeahFriday was definitely one of the best days of my whole mission!

In other uneventful news this news this week is transfers... haha just kidding it is pretty eventful. Liberal Kansas will be my last area. That is so weird to say! Hna Webb will be leaving and I my new companion will be Hna Viera from Puerto Rico! Yeah, we're going to make this area a full Spanish area once more!! :)

I love you all so much and I just want to all to know that I absolutely love love LOVE being a missionary and serving the Lord all day everyday! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

Hermana Kammeyer

So much Driving!!!

Hola Todos,

This week was sooooooooo soooooo busy!!! Whoa! It's was absolutely crazy! And full of so much driving.

We started off by going to Garden City for Stake and it was so much fun. We had a GIANT water balloon fight. It was so much fun! :) Loved it! And I was totally soaked!

Wednesday we had exchanges with the STL's and I got to go to Dogde City with Hermana Fernandez!!!! Heavenly Father is just absolutely wonderful. It was one of the most precious experiences of my mission. I was so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be with my first companion again. Hermana Fernandez is such a spiritual giant, every time she opens her mouth the spirit just flows out. During the exchange we found this really cool family, the mom's name is Blanca and she is so kinda and they are just so prepared and we invited them to be baptized on the 4th of July and they accepted.

Going back to Liberal was really hard. Not because I don't like Liberal but because I wouldn't get to be with Hermana Fernandez anymore. But the rest of that day was awesome! we had a member with us in all of our lessons! We also taught this awesome part member family, their names are Billy and Christina. I'll talk about them more later. We we left their house the Zone Leaders gave us a call and told us that we needed to go pick up the Sister Missionaries in Guymon Oklahoma because the Senior Missionaires had some pretty bad hail damage done to their car so they wouldn't be able to bring them up to Garden City the next day for Zone Conference. So at 9:30 at night we made the 45 minute drive to Guymon in a crazy lightening storm!!!! It was crazy cool!!!! the sky was lighting up for miles and it really showed me once again how cool Heavenly Father is! :)

Friday we had Zone Conference and I didn't realize until we got there that it would be my last Zone Conference! I learned so much and it definitely was the best Zone Conference I have ever been to. A tradition that we have here in the KWM is that when it's your last Zone Conference you have to get up and bare your "departing" testimony. It was so weird to have that experience and it just made me even more determined to not think about going home...ever.

Saturday we did so much service!! Cutting down trees, Putting Shingles on a members roof, painting rooms...etc. It was so crazy and I was so tired afterwards I am surprized that I didn't fall asleep! The Elders had a baptism that night as well and it was of an older Mexican man named Carlos. The Spirit was so strong and you could just see how happy he was that he finally found the truth.

Sunday was great. Billy and Christina came to church!!!! Billy has been a member since he was young but fell away for along time and Christina is his girlfriend. Long story really short is that they both loved Church and Christina is working towards being baptized on the 11th of July! :)

i love you all so much and I hope you all have a great week!!!!

Temple Trip!

Hola Todos!

This week was awesome!!! It started off great with our trip to the Oklahoma City Temple! It literally took all day. We left at 5:00 am from Dodge City Kansas (which is an hour and a half form our area) and we got back to Dodge at 9:30 pm. But it was so so so incredibly worth it!!! It was amazing to see and feel the power that comes from the temple enter into my life in this last week. It was a wonderful week that was full of miracles and happiness! :)
We don't have a ton of time to email this week because we are going to have Stake P-day at it's giong to be in Garden City!!!!! I'm so excited to go back to Garden even if it is only for a little bit. Oh and Garden City is also over a hour away.... You have to drive for ever in Western Kansas to get anywhere!!!

I Love you all so much and I promise that next week I will write a longer email!

Oklahoma Here We Come!!! :)

Hola Todos!

Wow, This week passed so quickly! It feels like so much happened and then like nothing has really happened since the last time I emailed. Mission time!

So this weekend the weather did start to clear up so hopefully no more Tornado scares! Our Zone Leaders almost died twice last week due to tornadoes!

On Friday we had and awesome miracle! We were going to see one of our investigators and we pulled up to her house and saw that her car wasn't there. So as an act of faith we decided to stick around and try to see if maybe someone else was home. We said a quick prayer and right as we finished our prayer someone pulled up right behind us. We get out the the car and just start talking to her. And no joke it hadn't even been five minutes and we were like, "Do you wanna go have a tour of the church with us?" She was like, yeah! Long story short the tour was amazing and she really felt the spirit and is now working towards baptism on the 20th of this month!!

It's so cool to see how Heavenly Father just puts us in the path of his Children who need help. Which I guess has pretty much been the theme for this week. We didn't have much time to do hardly anything this week (we've helped move three family, made a trip down to Wichita, and to go anywhere in western Kansas takes FOREVER) but Heavenly Father just put people in our path. It was really cool to be the answer to so many peoples prayers this week! Isn't Heavenly Father just the Best!!!

Sunday all of the new missionaries gave a talk in the ward. We have about 10 or so active members that Speak Spanish and they always have to wear translating headphones so I asked Bishop if I could give my talk in Spanish. It was really cool how easy it was to just get up and give a talk in another language and not worry at all! I ended up doing my talk in English too (I would say a little bit spanish and then I would translate that into English) and then I translated the rest of sacrament meeting and the fifth Sunday meeting. I'm still using my Spanish! :)

Well, that's about it for this week. Tomorrow we ear going to the temple in Oklahoma City!!! :) I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be an all day thing though. But it is going be so wonderful! You never really realize how important and how much you need the temple until you don't get to go. I haven't been to the temple in over a year!! So tomorrow is going to be awesome!!

It's definitely Tornado season!

Hola Todos!

Wow! This week and a half has been sooooo crazy! It's super weird to think that I was in Wichita just one week ago. It was so hard to leave Wichita. I honestly think I could've spent the rest of my mission there. But it's all good, without out change there is no hope of growing or becoming a better person. :)

Wednesday was transfers and I can not believe that I fit everything in my suitcases. Ugh, when did I get so much stuff? It was cool and really weird to see so many of the missionaries that I know and love head back home and it's just sinking in how much closer that is coming for me..... Let's change that subject. So the ride out to Liberal took forever! It's right on the Oklahoma boarder and we didn't get there until 9:00 pm. So it was a super long day.

The rest of the week passed by really fast and all I can say is that I forgot how weird it is not knowing where things are or who needs what. So I've really had to depend on my new companion Hermana Webb. It's actually pretty cool because she came out with Hermana Dahl, so in a weird and kinda of distant way I'm still connected to Hermana Dahl! :)

The Weather here has been crazy! We've had so much rain and on Sunday we had another Tornado scare. We were visiting a member and it was raining and the Tornado sirens went off and she was all like, "psh, I've lived here my whole life this is nothing there's not going to be a tornado." As she was making fun of the sirens we hear this huge thud on the roof and that's when she was like, "Oh, no!" It was hailing and the hails were so HUGE!!! I've never seen anything like it. And apparently hail like that is a pretty definite sign of a Tornado. So her and her husband launch into action and long story short just as they were about to shove Hna Webb and I into the crawl space under the house the sirens turned off.

We had another Tornado scare yesterday as I was driving us home from i-pad training! Which was awesome by the way. I learned so much. I was actually a little nervous about getting i-pad's because that's how I wasted time before my mission and I thought it was going to be a big temptation for me to have an i-pad. But what really stuck out to me was that this is an opportunity for all of us missionaries to increase our discipleship and become stronger individuals. So as i was driving back it was raining so so hard. The other sisters in the car said a prayer and we all felt like we needed to pull off the road and go to a gas station. So another long story short gas station was flooding but no tornado, well at least here. #TornadoSeason

I love you all so much and I hope that you all have a wonderful week!

Hola Todos!

Wow, What a crazy last week here in Wichita! In some ways this week felt like an eternity that passed in a blink of an eye.

Since it is transfer week I don't have a lot of time this week to email so here are the Highlights of this week. On Saturday all of the Missionaries in the Wichita Zone helped out with a walk for Angelman syndrome, it's a mental disorder a lot like downs syndrome but the people affected by it are always smiling and happy. A member in the Stake has twin daughters with this syndrome so it was really nice to help them out. We had to be there at 6:30 am so a lot of us were pretty tired but it was a lot of fun helping set up for it. I made a balloon arch and my fingers were pretty much rubbed rubbed raw from all of the balloons but it turned out pretty nicely if I do say so myself! Also on Saturday there was so much RAIN!!! And almost all the streets were flooded. So I felt like I was driving a motorboat instead of a car all day. And then we decided to go dancing in the rain when we got home. Which wasn't a good idea for Hermana Dahl because she ended up having a cold on Sunday. :(

On Sunday the HERNANDEZ GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!! It was so awesome to see them make this step to come closer to God. The Spirit was so strong at their baptism and it just helped me remember once again how important this work is! And just like any typically Spanish baptism it started a half an hour late and there was some kind of problem (This time there was no jumpsuits at the church do to the baptisms that took place the day before) but everything worked out in the end and it was a really great service! :)

So if you haven't guessed it I am being transferred to Liberal, Kansas. I'm not going to lie I was a little bummed when I read it. There's not a lot of Spanish work down there and the Sisters area isn't even considered a Spanish Area. So bummer!! But that is so not going to stop me from talking to every Hispanic person that I see!

So wish me luck in Dorothy's home town

"Can I be Mormon too?"

Hola Todos!

This week absolutely flew by!! It was crazy how fast this week went!! It is scary how fast time is going especially since this is my last full week here in Wichita. :( I so don't want to leave!!!

So this weekend we were supposed to have baptized the Hernandez family. But on Monday when we went over to their house the son, Gabriel who's eight, asks, "Can I be Mormon too?" And we were like, "Of Course!!!!!" So this week we've been over at their house everyday to do teach him all of the lessons. It's really awesome though because this is like the 4th time that we will be going through the lessons with Vidi so she is going to have all of the missionary discussions down! :) They will be baptized this Sunday after Church and it's going to be a really awesome service because someone the Elders are teaching will also be baptized that day!!

Mother's day was great. We had all of the youth in the branch sing a song for their moms which was great, even though it was super last minute but that's just how things happen in Spanish Branches. :) They did great and then Hna Dahl and I did a duet. She played the Violin and I was on the piano. It actually sounded really good, not to tut my own horn. But it was so funny right after we finished there was an awkward pause and then people started clapping. We were like, "Oh no! Too many nonmembers and recent converts!" haha it was pretty funny and really weird at the same time. We don't really cover that in our lessons.... future reference, that might be something I would want to talk about. :) Then for dinner we had the weirdest food I've had my whole mission! Drum roll please ..... It was Frog Legs and Alligator! Super weird but good. And the funny thing was that the Elders were the ones making the big fuss and acting like "girls" about it. :)

So this week we are going to knock everything out of the ball park and leave everything out on the field as we wrap up this transfer. Once again, where has all of my time gone?!?!?
Mucho amor from the Heartland of America,
Hermana Kammeyer

Holland for Dayz!

Buenas dias todos!

Esta semana fue muy muy loco! Tuvimos muchas cosas para hacer y no tiempo para hacerlo! Okay since some of you don't know Spanish (This week was so crazy! We had so many things to do and no time to do them!)

Everyday this week we were at the church for an activity with the branch, missionary meetings, and other special meetings. Even though our time to be out proselyting was cut short this week with all of the other things that we needed to do Heavenly Father still provided a way for us to accomplish everything that we needed to do!

If you haven't guessed it from the title of my email our mission had a VERY special visitor this weekend! ELDER JEFFERY R HOLLAND!!!!!!!!!! My head is still reeling from all of the things that I learned from him! Since we are in Wichita (a.k.a the promised land!) we got to see him 3 Days in a row! On Friday he gave a youth devotional and it was super good! He talked about how "... sometimes one is a multitude..." and when we stand up for what is right we are never alone. It was really good and we had a lot of recent converts and some of our investigators were there too, so double score! The only bummer was that since we're not  "youth" we had to sit in the back of the gym so I didn't get that High Definition shot that I'm used to with Conference. But that was all made up on Saturday when he met with the Missionaries! Everyone in the mission was there! Which never happens. And but some miracle, or maybe some thrown elbows, we got to sit in the second row! Then Heavenly Father totally answered one of my prayers when Elder Holland told us that he would like to shake his hand!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah, I could've died, gone straight to the celestial Kingdom, I was so happy. Then on Sunday he gave another meeting for the whole Wichita stake!! So I'm still trying to process everything that I learned from him and the Spirit!

This weekend two of our investigator are going to be baptized! And I am so incredibly happy for Heavenly Father giving me this opportunity to be apart of this experience! I love them so much and I know that this is only the beginning Heavenly Father has so much in store for them!!

I love you all so much and I hope you have a wonderful week! Keep the Faith and let you light shine!!

From the Heartland of America,
Hermana Kammeyer

La Familia Hernandez

Hola Todos!

This week was Great!! ..... even though I can't really remember much about it. :) Mission Brain, thank Heavens for Journals or I just might not remember anything after my mission.

So what I do remember about this week is that we were over at Vidi's house just about everyday this week! It was the best! Her mom finally started to join us for the lessons and she is like a spiritual giant!! She is definitely one of the Lord's elect because when we "teach" her it's like she already knows these things. She truly has '...eyes to see and ears to hear...' We love this family soooooo much! Vidi's mom was having a hard time accepting baptism but she has seen a huge difference in her daughter Vidi and she also has seen a lot of good changes in her other daughter Kendra (who's not even baptized yet). Last night we had another movie night (Kendra's request) and we watched The Testaments. When it started I was like, "Oh man, I forgot how cheesy this movie is!" But even though it is super cheesy it's hard to miss the spirit that's there when you watch it. And that spirit was key for Maria because now she has accepted baptism and is working towards being baptized with Kendra on May 9th!!!! I can't say, " My cup runneth over with gratitude," enough times!

So... yeah... that's really the majority of what I remember. Sorry I'll try and do better next week! But I love you all so much and I hope that you have a wonderful week!

Con Mucho Amor,

Hermana Kammeyer

Listen to the Spirit!

Hola Todos!

So this week passed so incredibly fast!! It's really scary how fast time is going by! We had of cool things happen this week... and some 'interesting' things as well.

We started the week off with exchanges with the STL's and I went to Maize with Hna Jennings!! (CCM Reunion!) I was a little surprised at first because I thought they would have Hna Jennings come to our area to help Hna Dahl. It's a good thing that they didn't do that though because it gave Hna Dahl the opportunity to grow so much! She had a lot of success in our area that day and I was SO proud of her!! :) I on the other hand was bored out of my mind in an English area, even thought it was super awesome to be comps again with Hna Jennings I was really missing mi gente en la otra lado del cuidad!

Thursday we had a really really crazy dinner with a member. The Elders were their and a recent convert and the dinner was sooo good then she asked if we wanted desert. We were all totally and she gave us a flan type thing. Then she asked if we wanted a sauce for it and then I got this really weird feeling about it. As she was pouring it on the other missionaries deserts she was saying things like "it's less than a beer" and I thought that she was joking about there being alcohol in it until she poured it over my piece of desert and it reeked of alcohol!! Elder Malo and I were the only ones who understood what was going on so our poor companions had already started to eat it when they noticed that we hadn't touched it. So long story short we ended up not eating the sauce and miraculously we didn't offend this member. Moral of the Story always listen to the Holy Ghost and make sure when people are talking about alcohol in your desert make sure they are joking before they pour it over your plate!

Then on Thursday I had a really awesome experience. We were at a recent converts house and his family had been going through a lot and he was about to give up on everything. I was praying so hard because I had NO IDEA what I should do. Longer story short the Holy Ghost took over and saved the day. It was crazy to feel The Spirit work through me like that. Things like that have happened before on my mission but never that powerfully before. So my testimony that the Lord does fulfill his promises was strengthen so much because of this experience. :)

The rest of the week was really good and we are going to continue to see more miracles in the week to come! :) I love you all so much and I hope that you have a wonderful week! :) Mucho amor de the Heartland of America!! :)
Sinceramente,
Hermana Kammeyer

Another False Alarm

Hola Todos,

This week was awesome! It just flew by, which is a little scary to see how fast my mission is going by. It's officially Spring time here in Kansas a.k.a. Tornado Season. :) Ah, It don't know if you all remember about the tornado scare that Hna Fernandez and I had last year but Hna Dahl and I had another one this week. On Wednesday everyone was like,"There is going to be a level 4 tornado today!" But the sky was nice and blue and it wasn't even windy! Then 5 o'clock rolled around and all of the sudden dark clouds started rolling in but it just looked like it was going to rain. Then it was the end of the day at Hna Dahl and I had just gotten home and we were grabbing something to eat and watch the Lightening storm that was going on outside when all of the sudden the Tornado Sirens went off!! Wow, let me tell you nothing will get your heart pumping faster than that!! We call the Branch Presidente to see if we could go to his house because he has a basement (we live on the top floor of an apartment building by the way). We knock on his door, I'm in my Pj's, and we soon find out that they hit the sirens for the wrong place and that the tornado touch down outside of the city so we were good. It was kinda of anticlimactic and a little embarrassing to see the Branch President in my Pj's.

So This week we've been praying really hard that Heavenly Father would lead us to those that he has prepared and that are ready for baptism. Then on Saturday Morning we went to have a lesson with someone that we talked to briefly last week. And they're amazing! They are a really strong Christian family but they want more for their kids and the kids are so in touch with the Spirit it's incredible! They are now date for the 9th of Mayo and it was just a really big testimony builder to me that Heavenly Father is listening to our prayers and he is guiding us to his children (they live in an area that we never go to and it was a total random happenstance that we found them). We are also working with the family of our recent convert Vidi Hernandez and her family has so much potential and we are so excited!! :) We had a movie night with them last night and watch Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration (on Netflix, the church just got even more awesome!) and the spirit was really strong and they are now reading the Book of Mormon! :D

We had a lot of other awesome things happen this week but it would take for ever to write them all, sorry. I hope you all have a great week and that you can let the light of Christ Shine through you!

Hermana Kammeyer

P.S.- We found out today that one of the 12 apostles is coming to the mission in May!!!!!! AH!!!!! So exciting!!!!

Zone P-day we went bowling. And I was the only one who didn't know that you didn't have to wear missionary clothes while bowling! So I bowled in a dress and still broke 100, woot woot! :)

One of the Recent Converts went on team-ups with us and we got Ice Cream after :)

Vidi got BAPTIZED!!!!!!

Hola Todos!

This week went by so incredibly fast!! It does not feel like it should be Monday again, not that it isn't a welcome relief. :) Wednesday was transfers and we were sad to see some of our friends leave the Zone but I am so happy to still be here in Wichita West Spanish! It's the Best! Also Hna Jennings, my companion from the MTC, is the new STL for the Wichita Zone so it's been awesome seeing her like all the time! And we even had a mini exchange on Sunday!
So this whole week we've been getting ready for Vidi's Baptism! She is so wonderful and her baptism was awesome. It was pretty stressful because we planned it in-between the two sessions of Conference, and the person she wanted to baptize her didn't fit in any of the white jump suits, and the one of the people giving the talks didn't show up, and the branch president was in Kansas City so he didn't even make it, and Then Vidi had to get dunked 4 times because her feet kept coming up! Phew, just thinking about it makes me exhausted again. But the spirit was so strong and her family definitely felt the Spirit which was all that we could really ask for and now our next course of action is to try and help them make the same decision that Vidi made (aka coming unto Jesus :D).
Conference was great! I really enjoyed the Saturday morning session. It definitely gave me the peace and calm that I needed to go and face all of the craziness of Vidi's baptism. On Easter I had a quick exchange with Hna Jennings! We went and watched the morning session with a family in the Branch (in Spanish) and it was so much fun! Hna Dahl said that she wanted to watch it in English so she would actually get something from it and she got to watch it with Vidi. It is awesome having my old companion as an STL! We'll definitely be calling in more favors like that now that we have a leader who actually speaks Spanish! :)
That night we had dinner with the Richardson family and we had a "Passover feast." IT was so much fun and it included fun, singing, and bitter herbs (yum!). So overall we had a FANTASTIC Easter weekend!
I love you all so much and I hope you have a great week!

6 Months in Wichita!!!! YES!!

Hola Todos!

So Sorry about not sending my email last week! I thought that I had sent it, ugh computers and I don't really get along very well right now. :)

I'm excited to say that we I am going to be staying in Wichita West Spanish for another Transfer with Hna Dahl!! Woot woot!! I feel so incredibly blessed to get another opportunity to stay here!

This week went by so so fast! We had a lot of this week with Sisters Conference out in Dogde City. It was so much fun to go out west again! I was like, "Let's just keep driving for another hour so we can go see everyone in Garden City!" But the other Sisters that we carpooled with weren't so down for that. Probably the best thing about Sisters conference was getting to see Hna Fernandez again!!! It was the best to be able to catch up with her and laugh about the times that we had in Newton.

I was really impressed as well with the General Women's Meeting on Saturday. The last two that they've had were really hard for me to get into but this one was really good and exactly what the Sisters that we brought with us needed to hear!

Sunday we had kind of a stressful morning because Vidi, our Investigator that, is getting baptized next weekend. Texted us saying that she wasn't going to be able to come to church because she found out that she had a huge project due in school today. We called her and talked to her and then she ended up praying to see if she needed to come to church. And guess what, she came!!! She is so wonderful! She told us that she decided to come to church because she wants to put God first in her life! #SuperPrepared

So that's pretty much the highlights from this week. The Lord is amazing and He is totally doing all of the work here! Please keep Vidi in your prayers! Thanks so much for all that you do! Please remember the real reason that we celebrate Easter and Share the Because He Lives video with everyone you know!

Haha.... opps Email: 23 March 2015

So as I was reading my emails this week I was all, "Why is my mom getting mad at me for not writing to her? I sent out an email." Then I come to find out that this email didn't send. Ops my Bad. :)

Buena Dias Todos!

Wow, this week went by so quickly and to be honest I can barely remember what happen... haha Mission Brain it's the worst!

The things that I do remember happening this week are; on Monday the Zone went to the Zoo! It was a lot of fun and the Zoo here in Wichita is actually pretty good, which was super surprising. We also had to clean the car really because of Friday we got the dreaded Tiwis' :( The are a little box that monitors your driving and all that good stuff. So that was fun... but it's making me a better driver so that's a plus! :)

When they installed the Tiwis' we also had Specalized Training and it was really good! I always learn so much from Prez Bell and the AP's. We also got watch the new video that the church put out for Easter this year. We are trying to share it with everyone because it really brings the Spirit so strongly of Jesus Christ and the really reason that we celebrate Easter!

Also one of our investigators named Viridiana (Vidi for short) is progressing so much and we are so excited for her. She came to church and absolutely loved it! Oh BTW I got to give a 15 min talk in sacrament meeting. One of the speakers was sick so the Elders were looking for someone to give a talk so I was like ,"I can do it," 15 minutes before Sacrament Meeting for about 8 of those minutes I was playing the piano for the meeting. IT WAS AWESOME! :) Heavenly Father totes took care of me! I knew that I wanted to give a talk on the Sacrament but I left my Liahona at home. I was walking past a cart were we keep the Himnos and I saw a piece of printer paper so I picked it up and flipped it over and it was the first page of a talk give in this last general conference about the Sacrament!!! So cool!!!! Heavenly Father is the best! I was really surprised how easy it was to give my talk... I guess someone really needed to hear about the sacrament.

Yeah so that pretty much it for this week... yeah that's really all that I can remember :) But I love you all and thank you so much for all of you're love and support! I hope you all have a great week!

#BilingualProbs

Hola Todos,

This week went really well. We are seeing a lot of progress with some of our investigators! We had an awesome Church Tour with a girl named Vidi. She's been a little shaky about being baptized but she has been loving everything that we've taught her. During the tour of the Church she was really feeling the spirit so we all knelt down in front of the baptismal font and she asked Heavenly Father if she needed to be baptized. When she finished we asked her what she thought the spirit was telling her and she said, "That I need to get baptized, pronto!" It was so amazing to see how she was able to recognized the spirit and what it was telling her and now she's on date for the 4th of April!

Tender Mercy! Right before Vidi's to
ur we pulled up to the Church and almost all of the Youth from Newton were there!! It was so awesome! They were like "Is that Sister Kammeyer?!?!" and then the girls like ran up and hugged/ tackled me! :) There are so many perks when you serve in Wichita!!! :)

We also had fun this week teaching a really interesting family. It's been interesting because the Husband (Clarence) only speaks English and his wife Ana only speaks Spanish. So it's been really fun and hard because we've had to had two separate lessons every time we've seen them which is really hard for me because I'll be the one teaching in Spanish and I'll get distracted by people speaking English right next to me! Ah, it was so crazy! But we've enlisted the help of the English Elders and we've got a system worked on for teaching them now, phew! :)

We are doing great here in Wichita! We are learning from our mistakes and growing from them everyday! It's so awesome to see the changes that are happening not only in our lives but also in the lives of those we teach! The Gospel really is the greatest thing EVER!! :)
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Let your light shine and be the person that Heavenly Father needs you to be today! I love you all so much!

Pass me the Ukelele man

Hola Todos!

This week was really good. I can't really remember what happened earlier in the week other than that it was a good week. Sorry, I'm getting old so that means a really bad memory. :)

So Saturday Morning I had a pretty crazy experience that I get to add to the journal. :) I got to translate for the Stake Relief Society auxiliary leadership training.... for three hours! My brain felt like mush but the time the meeting was over and I had a hard time speaking English the rest of the day. But the Gift of Tongues is real and it was super interesting to me and really spiritual to see everything that goes into the Relief Society. So, Mom you are awesome!

Hna Dahl also got a Ukulele Sent to her this weekend so on Saturday Night we had a fun Ukulele jam session. You can expect to see our up coming hit single "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat," is stores near you soon! :) Haha

Yesterday we had a totally left field miracle! The two investigators that we were expecting to be called and said that they were sick so we were pretty bummed that we weren't going to have anyone at Church but then a recent convert brought her grandma to Church and we started talking with her and she's really interested in learning about the gospel!! So Heavenly Father does definitely provide you with miracles if you are working hard.
The weather was also FANTASTIC this weekend! And usually I don't like daylight savings but now we have more light to work with so it is now officially awesome! We finished off the week with having Family Home Evening with a family of recent converts. We played a card game and talked about missionary work and it was so much fun. The kids loved it and just doing family home evening with them once really strengthened my testimony of how important it is. Family Fun Time is so important!

I love you all and I hope you have a great week!

Como se dice Barf?

Hola Todos,
So this week was pretty good except for Friday but I'll get to that later. To start of the week we had an awesome Monday, it was super productive and even though we only had three hours to work we got a TON of work done which was awesome! So cool!
Then on Tuesday we had exchanges with the STL's and it was really needed. Sister McClees came with me and it was really awesome to talk to her because she just got done training someone so she was able to give me some tips and tricks that I really needed to hear and it helped me realize even more how wonderful Hna Dahl is because she wants to work hard and I don't have to drag her out of bed or anything like that.
The rest of the week was going pretty strong until Friday rolled up. If you've put two and two together from reading the subject of this email you've probably already figured out that I didn't have a very good day on Friday. I woke up and when I started to exercise I was feeling really weird and as the morning studies progressed I continued to get worse and worse. I was pretty convinced that I had gotten food poisoning from the night before (and because I laughed at the Spanish Elders for getting food poisoning earlier this week so I was just like "karma"). My body was being really stubborn and wouldn't let me just throw up so I could get on with the day so I prayed that I would feel better. And no joke right after I finished my prayer I pretty much started puking my brains out. So Heavenly Father can answer prayers immediately! :) Unfortunately it wasn't food poisoning but it was a 24 hour stomach flu. And to be short in writing the rest of the day was miserable a) because we had to stay inside ALL day b) I was throwing up and just sick all over!

Friday I woke up feeling a lot better, still a little queasy but I was not spending another day inside! And it felt so good to get out and work! I will never take another day of my mission for granted because it is the worst when you can't get out and share the gospel with people.
Sunday church was canceled. :( You can't get anybody to drive in the snow here... at least not in the Spanish Branch. So Sunday didn't really feel like Sunday at all! Whelp that is pretty much it for this week. To answer the question that posed in the subject line you say vomitar. :) (We actually had to look it up so I could call our appointments and cancel so that was a fun experience) I hope you all are doing well and I hope you know that I love you all so much! Espero que tengan un buen semana!
Con Mucho Amor,
Hermana Kammeyer
