Whoa! Week of Miracles!! :)

Hola Todos!

Wow, this week was amazing! I learned so much and so many wonderful things happened! So the first miracle of the week was that we didn't have any extra meetings this week!!!! Therefore we had our whole week to just work (that's the first time that's happened this whole transfer)! It was a huge blessing and I am so grateful for everyday that I have to work hard and serve the Lord.

Last week I think I told you about Billy and Christina and how she is working towards being baptized. After Church last Sunday we showed her around the church and she felt the spirit so strongly and ever since then she has just been on Fire!! (spiritually that is) She's been reading the Book of Mormon everyday and she is progressing so much!! We taught her about the Law of Chasity and we invited her to live it. We knew it might be a hard change for her so we invited some member families to pray for her and within two days Christina and Billy had picked out a day that they wanted to get married!!!!!!! And guess what? That day is this weekend!!!!! What?!?! Isn't Heavenly Father just the best! He is providing the way to help them come back to him and he is there every step of the way.

On Friday, Sister Webb and I woke up and we weren't feeling to good but we decided to just ignore it and to keep on working and man, did Heavenly Father bless us. We talked to so many knew people and on our way to dinner we saw a teenager sitting outside on her porch. We got off our bikes and went and talked to her and it was incredible. She just recently moved her and she's had a rough past and didn't feel like God loved her. We testified that he did love her and that He sent us there to show her that. By the end of the conversation the spirit had touched her heart and she agreed to be baptized next month!! :) Then after dinner a member took us to go see on of her friends named Herainia. That was probably one of the sweetest and most precious experiences of my mission. This member had never shared the gospel with anyone before and she was so nervous to share it. But the Holy Ghost had testified to her so strongly that her friend needed to hear the gospel that she took us to go see her. The night before we came Herainia had prayed and asked Heavenly Father to take her to a place where she could feel 'the warmth in her heart' again. As her friend testified to her of the blessings of the gospel and as we read the book of Mormon with her she felt that warmth and and recognized us as the answers to her prayer.

I don't think I've ever felt more grateful for anything in my whole life than I was that day and at that time. Because Heavenly Father chose me to answer the prayer of one of his children. I can truly testify that He does listen to and answer every prayer because God loves his children... So yeahFriday was definitely one of the best days of my whole mission!

In other uneventful news this news this week is transfers... haha just kidding it is pretty eventful. Liberal Kansas will be my last area. That is so weird to say! Hna Webb will be leaving and I my new companion will be Hna Viera from Puerto Rico! Yeah, we're going to make this area a full Spanish area once more!! :)

I love you all so much and I just want to all to know that I absolutely love love LOVE being a missionary and serving the Lord all day everyday! I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

So much Driving!!!

Hola Todos,

This week was sooooooooo soooooo busy!!! Whoa! It's was absolutely crazy! And full of so much driving.

We started off by going to Garden City for Stake and it was so much fun. We had a GIANT water balloon fight. It was so much fun! :) Loved it! And I was totally soaked!

Wednesday we had exchanges with the STL's and I got to go to Dogde City with Hermana Fernandez!!!! Heavenly Father is just absolutely wonderful. It was one of the most precious experiences of my mission. I was so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be with my first companion again. Hermana Fernandez is such a spiritual giant, every time she opens her mouth the spirit just flows out. During the exchange we found this really cool family, the mom's name is Blanca and she is so kinda and they are just so prepared and we invited them to be baptized on the 4th of July and they accepted.

Going back to Liberal was really hard. Not because I don't like Liberal but because I wouldn't get to be with Hermana Fernandez anymore. But the rest of that day was awesome! we had a member with us in all of our lessons! We also taught this awesome part member family, their names are Billy and Christina. I'll talk about them more later. We we left their house the Zone Leaders gave us a call and told us that we needed to go pick up the Sister Missionaries in Guymon Oklahoma because the Senior Missionaires had some pretty bad hail damage done to their car so they wouldn't be able to bring them up to Garden City the next day for Zone Conference. So at 9:30 at night we made the 45 minute drive to Guymon in a crazy lightening storm!!!! It was crazy cool!!!! the sky was lighting up for miles and it really showed me once again how cool Heavenly Father is! :)

Friday we had Zone Conference and I didn't realize until we got there that it would be my last Zone Conference! I learned so much and it definitely was the best Zone Conference I have ever been to. A tradition that we have here in the KWM is that when it's your last Zone Conference you have to get up and bare your "departing" testimony. It was so weird to have that experience and it just made me even more determined to not think about going home...ever.

Saturday we did so much service!! Cutting down trees, Putting Shingles on a members roof, painting rooms...etc. It was so crazy and I was so tired afterwards I am surprized that I didn't fall asleep! The Elders had a baptism that night as well and it was of an older Mexican man named Carlos. The Spirit was so strong and you could just see how happy he was that he finally found the truth.

Sunday was great. Billy and Christina came to church!!!! Billy has been a member since he was young but fell away for along time and Christina is his girlfriend. Long story really short is that they both loved Church and Christina is working towards being baptized on the 11th of July! :)

i love you all so much and I hope you all have a great week!!!!

Temple Trip!

Hola Todos!

This week was awesome!!! It started off great with our trip to the Oklahoma City Temple! It literally took all day. We left at 5:00 am from Dodge City Kansas (which is an hour and a half form our area) and we got back to Dodge at 9:30 pm. But it was so so so incredibly worth it!!! It was amazing to see and feel the power that comes from the temple enter into my life in this last week. It was a wonderful week that was full of miracles and happiness! :)
We don't have a ton of time to email this week because we are going to have Stake P-day at it's giong to be in Garden City!!!!! I'm so excited to go back to Garden even if it is only for a little bit. Oh and Garden City is also over a hour away.... You have to drive for ever in Western Kansas to get anywhere!!!

I Love you all so much and I promise that next week I will write a longer email!

Oklahoma Here We Come!!! :)

Hola Todos!

Wow, This week passed so quickly! It feels like so much happened and then like nothing has really happened since the last time I emailed. Mission time!

So this weekend the weather did start to clear up so hopefully no more Tornado scares! Our Zone Leaders almost died twice last week due to tornadoes!

On Friday we had and awesome miracle! We were going to see one of our investigators and we pulled up to her house and saw that her car wasn't there. So as an act of faith we decided to stick around and try to see if maybe someone else was home. We said a quick prayer and right as we finished our prayer someone pulled up right behind us. We get out the the car and just start talking to her. And no joke it hadn't even been five minutes and we were like, "Do you wanna go have a tour of the church with us?" She was like, yeah! Long story short the tour was amazing and she really felt the spirit and is now working towards baptism on the 20th of this month!!

It's so cool to see how Heavenly Father just puts us in the path of his Children who need help. Which I guess has pretty much been the theme for this week. We didn't have much time to do hardly anything this week (we've helped move three family, made a trip down to Wichita, and to go anywhere in western Kansas takes FOREVER) but Heavenly Father just put people in our path. It was really cool to be the answer to so many peoples prayers this week! Isn't Heavenly Father just the Best!!!

Sunday all of the new missionaries gave a talk in the ward. We have about 10 or so active members that Speak Spanish and they always have to wear translating headphones so I asked Bishop if I could give my talk in Spanish. It was really cool how easy it was to just get up and give a talk in another language and not worry at all! I ended up doing my talk in English too (I would say a little bit spanish and then I would translate that into English) and then I translated the rest of sacrament meeting and the fifth Sunday meeting. I'm still using my Spanish! :)

Well, that's about it for this week. Tomorrow we ear going to the temple in Oklahoma City!!! :) I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be an all day thing though. But it is going be so wonderful! You never really realize how important and how much you need the temple until you don't get to go. I haven't been to the temple in over a year!! So tomorrow is going to be awesome!!

It's definitely Tornado season!

Hola Todos!

Wow! This week and a half has been sooooo crazy! It's super weird to think that I was in Wichita just one week ago. It was so hard to leave Wichita. I honestly think I could've spent the rest of my mission there. But it's all good, without out change there is no hope of growing or becoming a better person. :)

Wednesday was transfers and I can not believe that I fit everything in my suitcases. Ugh, when did I get so much stuff? It was cool and really weird to see so many of the missionaries that I know and love head back home and it's just sinking in how much closer that is coming for me..... Let's change that subject. So the ride out to Liberal took forever! It's right on the Oklahoma boarder and we didn't get there until 9:00 pm. So it was a super long day.

The rest of the week passed by really fast and all I can say is that I forgot how weird it is not knowing where things are or who needs what. So I've really had to depend on my new companion Hermana Webb. It's actually pretty cool because she came out with Hermana Dahl, so in a weird and kinda of distant way I'm still connected to Hermana Dahl! :)

The Weather here has been crazy! We've had so much rain and on Sunday we had another Tornado scare. We were visiting a member and it was raining and the Tornado sirens went off and she was all like, "psh, I've lived here my whole life this is nothing there's not going to be a tornado." As she was making fun of the sirens we hear this huge thud on the roof and that's when she was like, "Oh, no!" It was hailing and the hails were so HUGE!!! I've never seen anything like it. And apparently hail like that is a pretty definite sign of a Tornado. So her and her husband launch into action and long story short just as they were about to shove Hna Webb and I into the crawl space under the house the sirens turned off.

We had another Tornado scare yesterday as I was driving us home from i-pad training! Which was awesome by the way. I learned so much. I was actually a little nervous about getting i-pad's because that's how I wasted time before my mission and I thought it was going to be a big temptation for me to have an i-pad. But what really stuck out to me was that this is an opportunity for all of us missionaries to increase our discipleship and become stronger individuals. So as i was driving back it was raining so so hard. The other sisters in the car said a prayer and we all felt like we needed to pull off the road and go to a gas station. So another long story short gas station was flooding but no tornado, well at least here. #TornadoSeason

I love you all so much and I hope that you all have a wonderful week!

Hola Todos!

Wow, What a crazy last week here in Wichita! In some ways this week felt like an eternity that passed in a blink of an eye.

Since it is transfer week I don't have a lot of time this week to email so here are the Highlights of this week. On Saturday all of the Missionaries in the Wichita Zone helped out with a walk for Angelman syndrome, it's a mental disorder a lot like downs syndrome but the people affected by it are always smiling and happy. A member in the Stake has twin daughters with this syndrome so it was really nice to help them out. We had to be there at 6:30 am so a lot of us were pretty tired but it was a lot of fun helping set up for it. I made a balloon arch and my fingers were pretty much rubbed rubbed raw from all of the balloons but it turned out pretty nicely if I do say so myself! Also on Saturday there was so much RAIN!!! And almost all the streets were flooded. So I felt like I was driving a motorboat instead of a car all day. And then we decided to go dancing in the rain when we got home. Which wasn't a good idea for Hermana Dahl because she ended up having a cold on Sunday. :(

On Sunday the HERNANDEZ GOT BAPTIZED!!!!!!!! It was so awesome to see them make this step to come closer to God. The Spirit was so strong at their baptism and it just helped me remember once again how important this work is! And just like any typically Spanish baptism it started a half an hour late and there was some kind of problem (This time there was no jumpsuits at the church do to the baptisms that took place the day before) but everything worked out in the end and it was a really great service! :)

So if you haven't guessed it I am being transferred to Liberal, Kansas. I'm not going to lie I was a little bummed when I read it. There's not a lot of Spanish work down there and the Sisters area isn't even considered a Spanish Area. So bummer!! But that is so not going to stop me from talking to every Hispanic person that I see!

So wish me luck in Dorothy's home town
